![]() It's every authors' dream to make the best-seller lists and to have their books sold everywhere, I just don't want to have to sacrifice the freedom I have in order to do that. I'm really happy just self-publishing my New Adult/Contemp novels and have heard so many horror stories about big publishing houses, but honestly it's not fair for me to form an opinion considering I'm like a blind fish in the giant ocean of publishing. At this point I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I have had a few agents contact me about representation. ![]() Astraea Press only does sweet romance and because of the content I would have had to edit a lot of the stuff out. I was a bit let down but decided to self publish it instead. She read it and said she shopped it around and in the end said it wasn't a very tight story and that my sales weren't high enough in the contemporary romance genre to take a chance. I wrote it over a year ago and gave it to an agent that works for Astraea Press, the publishing house I work with for all my historicals. ![]() Here is the story of The Bet in her words from a series of emails between the two of us today: ![]()
